HAZEL GREEN, AL (WAFF) -

Do you remember an old episode of "The Andy Griffith Show" where Sheriff Taylor thought his son was making up stories about a man who walked around in the tree tops?  That was until he met Mr. McBeevee and learned Opie was telling the truth.

And there are others who also walk around in the trees such as the folks at Jet and Sons Tree Service.

"Out of 36 years, it just started. It just grows on me. That's all I've done all my life, " said Steven Tillet, who owns the service.

Tillet's father started the business, and now his sons join him from what can be called the best vantage point.

"Never fell out of a tree. Never in my life. That's one thing you don't do in tree service is fall," Tillet said.

That first step would be a doozie.

"Heights don't bother me. It's been so long that it just grows on me just normal. Just like standing on the ground," he said. "I can go from Pine Tree to Pine Tree, long as they're close enough for me to jump from one to the next."

And now his sons are following in his "tree" steps. His son Stephen says his experience started long ago.

"When I was about 5 or 6 years old, my grand-paw would let us come to work with him. But professionally, ever since about 2000."

And there is one tool which makes the walk possible.

"When you're up in the trees you need to have your rope tied in all the time. So you need to be tied off two times to be safe, but you've got to have a rope up there with you and the rope is your balance," he said. "It's a very dangerous job."
