The Latest: Trump's convention more of a family affair

Donald Trump once promised a "showbiz" convention, packed with flash, celebrities and a "winner's night" featuring sports stars and champion coaches.

But the Republican National Convention kicking off Monday looks more like a family-focused affair, with a lineup that features everyday Americans, successful business people and four of his five children.

David: Temperatures to be in the 90s by noon

Heat will be the big weather story this week.  We’re looking at possible First Alert Weather Days in the late week as highs push close to 100° with the heat index Thursday and Friday likely to top 105°.

Monday, we’re starting out with low-to-mid 70s under clear skies. There could be a few foggy spots, but any fog should lift by 8 to 9 a.m.  Look for plenty of sunshine otherwise allowing for a quick warm-up. Temperatures should be near 90° at Noon with highs into the mid 90s. The heat index Monday should be around 100°.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
