Dallas and much of the nation will pause today to mourn as funerals begin for the five police officers killed by a sniper during a protest late last week. Good morning. Trent Butler here. Today at the White House, President Obama will meet with police officers, city leaders and civil rights activists to talk about rebuilding trust between officers and the communities they serve. 

Many parents are talking about rezoning changes that may happen soon in the Madison City school system. The school board approved a plan that affects a large undeveloped area in Limestone County. Children there may be divided between seven elementary schools across the Madison City school district. Superintendent Dr. Dee Fowler says overcrowding is to blame and that one school won't be able to hold all the new students. 

People who work for and attend St. John The Baptist Catholic church in Madison are shocked this morning after learning an employee is facing child porn charges.  Madison County deputies say they arrested John Martin after searching his home. Martin worked in adult education at the church and investigators say they don't know of any victims at this time. Yet, they are asking parents to speak to their children about this difficult issue. 

Heroin overdoses are happening so often in the Tennessee Valley, community leaders are planning a town hall meeting to focus on how to reduce the problem. Emergency room doctors say the heroin overdoses started to spike again once police cracked down on prescription drug abuse. The town hall meeting will be held July 19th at the Redstone Federal Credit Union on Wynn Drive from 1-3 pm.
