FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Sunny skies with temperatures in the low 90s

(WAFF) -

The day begins with temperatures in the middle 60s. This afternoon, mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 90s with lower humidity along with light northerly winds. Tonight, mostly clear with overnight lows falling back into the middle 60s on Friday.

The heat and humidity build as we head into the holiday weekend. Highs Friday will still be in the lower 90s, but you'll likely notice that it's feeling muggier along with increasing cloud cover. Lows should be around 70° overnight.

Highs Saturday and Sunday should push into the mid-90s with only an isolated afternoon storm developing, yet those chances are extended for Sunday. Scattered storms are in the forecast for Independence Day and the early part of next week.

Still, the shower activity is hit and miss in nature and doesn't prompt any early change in plans. However, a backup plan is always a good idea for your July 4th events. Be sure to check back for the most up-to-date forecast.
