If you plan on going out to eat this weekend instead of cooking out you may want to note the eight restaurants who were marked as low performers after health inspections.

Mt. Fuji Japanese Restaurant in Arab scored a 79. The inspector reported Teflon that had flaked off of cookware had gotten inside of rice steamers, fryers baskets and skimmers. The inspector also reported food items in a cooler on the cook line were four to eight degrees over the 41-degree temperature needed to prevent bacterial growth in cold-holding food.

The Huddle House that's also on Brindlee Mountain Parkway in Arab scored a 79. The Marshall County Health Department reported a hose connected to the mop sink did not have the back siphonage protection needed to make sure contaminated water didn't get back into the drinking water supply. They were also reportedly using a cracked ice scoop and a cracked ice bucket.

The Waffle House in Florence scored an 82, losing points because a cooler was running too warm and because a worker spilled their drink on a food prep table during the inspection.

Two cold-holding food violations were reported at Food Basket in Albertville as the restaurant scored an 81. The health department reported raw meat stored in a cooler meant for produce was ten degrees above the required temperature and food items in another cooler were too warm by five degrees.

This week's lowest scoring low performer is Mt. Top Cafe in Phil Campbell with a 76. The Franklin County Health Department reported a worker did not wash their hands before putting on gloves and handling food. The restaurant also lost points because eggs and cheese in a reach-in cooler were five to nine degrees above the required temperature.

Hibachi Express in Decatur scored an 81. The inspector reports detergent was dripping off of drying pans into a sink and onto thawing shrimp. They also lost points because there were an excessive number of flies in the establishment.

Paradise Food Mart on Chisolm Road in Florence is a Kitchen Cops Low Performer for the third straight inspection. They scored a 72 and a 79 during their previous two inspections and scored a 75 during their most recent inspection. The inspector reported finding molded food. The Lauderdale County Health Department reviewed the rules for date marking food with the staff in order to prevent it from reoccurring.

The Casa Blanca Mexican Restaurant on Highway 72 East in Athens is now off of the Kitchen Cops Low Performers list, scoring a 92 during their reinspection, a fifteen-point improvement over the previous inspection.

The Q Bar BQ food truck in Huntsville scored an 82. The inspector reported several food items in a reach-in cooler were above the required temperature.

There are eight Kitchen Cops High Performers this week. The Wendy's and the Momma Goldberg's that are both on Woodward Avenue in Muscle Shoals each scored a 99 as did the Pizza Hut in Priceville.

Blackberry Trail Grille at the golf course in Florence scored a 98,  as did The Fresh Market, Inc. deli in Huntsville, the Chik-Fil-A at Parkway Place Mall in Huntsville, Classic Wheels nightclub in Huntsville, and the deli at the Publix on Gunter Avenue in Guntersville.
