FIRST ALERT: Islamic community demanding apology from AL congressman

(WAFF) -

Islamic community demanding apology from AL congressman

The nation's largest Muslim advocacy groups are demanding an apology from Alabama congressman Mo Books. This comes just days after the congressman went on a Birmingham radio show saying, Muslims want to kill every gay person in America. As you could imagine those comments are not sitting with the Islamic community.

Murder suspect previously charged with assault against victim

A murder suspect is now in custody after being caught digging a shallow grave for a woman's body. That woman was Wanda Ivey, who was found with two gunshot wounds in Timothy Warhurst's trunk.

Highs topping out in the lower 90s with increasing humidity

It’s not quite as cool this morning, and temperatures are ranging from the mid-60s into the lower 70s. High, thin clouds will drift into the Valley from the north over the course of this morning. Temperatures should still warm quickly and we’ll be into the mid/the upper 80s by lunchtime.
