HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

It's past time to fire up the lawn mower and cut some grass. A number of homes were reported to SeeClickFix for overgrown grass in North Alabama.

Terry Jones got the memo on a hot afternoon mowing the grass. The smell of freshly cut grass made apparent to anyone passing along the corner lot.

Jones said he stepped in to help out his sister with her lawn maintenance. It just so happens that one of her neighbors has a watchful eye for overgrown grass and high weeds.

A report from the Club View Drive neighborhood stated, "As usual the grass is three feet tall. This is an ongoing problem and has been reported several times every year in the past."

That's not the only complaint. A widespread problem reported on SeeClickFix this time of year is overgrown grass and high weeds.

The complaints are from every corner of the city such as Forrest Circle Northeast Huntsville, Forrest Park Northwest, Wynsom Drive Southeast, Slate Drive Southwest and Crestwood Drive Southwest are just a few reports listed.

People are fed up with their neighbors not maintaining the grass like the house on Forrest Park Court with noticeably tall grass and high weeds exceeding the city's ordinance of eight inches.

Unfortunately, not everyone has a brother like Jones to cut it for you.

If the city steps in, you could be fined or pay a premium for having the city mow it.
