Orlando shooter had profile on gay dating app

Early Sunday morning, Omar Mateen shot and killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, but at least two regular patrons of the Pulse say Mateen was a frequent visitor there.Mateen had been spotted dozens of times in the past three years and exchanged messages with at least one gay man on a gay dating app, where he had a profile, using an alias.

Shoals vigil held for Orlando victims

The Shoals PrideFest week began on a somber note, as they sang and prayed, and paid tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting Monday night. Leaders from several community churches came together and called for an end to hate, an end to the discrimination against the LGBT community.

Scattered storms for Tuesday

We’re starting this morning warm and muggy once again with temperatures a couple degrees warmer than yesterday in most spots. Readings are generally in the low/mid-70s. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds this morning. Thicker clouds should develop with time as we head into the afternoon.
