Names of victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting

Fifty people were killed and 53 were injured in a shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando on Sunday. After three hours, police stormed the club where the gunman, Omar Mateen, was holding hostages in a restroom. Officials are releasing names of those killed after they are able to notify next-of-kin.

Shoals PrideFest to hold candlelight vigil

The mass shooting in Orlando happened as many LGBT supporters celebrate Pride Week across the country. A week full of Pride festivities in the Shoals started Saturday but now organizers are rapidly changing their plans in response to the Orlando tragedy.

High humidity with temperatures warming quickly

We’re starting this morning warm and muggy. Skies are mainly clear, but a few foggy spots aren’t out of the question given the high humidity. Temperatures should warm quickly today, and you can expect a similar afternoon compared to Sunday. We should be into the lower 90s around lunch time with highs pushing into the mid-90s.
