Deputies searching for suspect in Boaz woman's murder

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Deputies in Marshall County are searching for a murder suspect after a woman's body was found on the side of a road.

According to deputies, Gloria Stephanie Palomec-Santiago, 24 of Boaz, was found dead on Brock Road in Boaz just after 2 a.m. last Thursday.

Deputies have signed a warrant for Edgar Almanza-Zarazu, 20 of Albertville, who is believed to be the murder suspect.

Deputies say Zarazu has fled the state.

At this time, he has not been located and several agencies are searching for him.

Marshall Co. District Attorney’s Office, Boaz police, Douglas police, DeKalb County Sheriff, ALEA, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and F.B.I. are all working to located Zarazua.
