FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

The Annual W.C. Handy Music Festival is just around the corner, and the 2016 logo has been revealed!

Jessie Layne designed the new logo that will be put on shirts, posters, and other materials promoting the big event.

Layne is currently a student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville studying graphic design and electrical engineering.

This year will be her first W.C. Handy festival that she will attend.

The 35th Annual W.C. Handy Music Festival will be held July 22-31, 2016 at many venues around the Shoals area.

New features like the UNA Summer Theatre's production "I'll Take You There: The Music of Muscle Shoals," will be added to the event.

The tickets for "I'll Take You There: The Music of Muscle Shoals" are $25 and can be purchased online here
