GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The zip lines are now open at Lake Guntersville State Park.
Thursday kicked off the first day for the general public to begin trying them out.
Some had experience from other locations. Others it was their first time. But it appeared everyone was having a good time.
Crews at the Screaming Eagle Zip Line Tour gave people a quick lesson about how to travel the lines before putting people in the air.
People of all ages came out to enjoy the fun.
Some took a little coaxing to make that first jump but appeared to enjoy themselves once they made their way to the next stop about 70 feet in the air.
Some people said they had tried zip lines in Nashville but really looked forward to the new line at the state park mainly because of the view and wanted to try it out.
"Everyone on Facebook is sharing it and I wanted to do it for my sister-in-laws birthday. We're adrenaline junkies so yeah that's why," said Sissy Lopez of Guntersville.
Officials said they plan to construct more and longer zip lines at the park later this year.
