FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Mix of sun and high clouds with highs around 90

(WAFF) - We are starting this morning about 5-10° warmer than we did yesterday. With the exception of northeastern AL, we're in the low-to-mid 60s. Mid/upper 50s possible across Jackson and DeKalb Counties for a few hours.

Temperatures will warm quickly with a mix of sun and high clouds through the day. We'll be into the low-to-mid 80s by lunchtime with highs around 90. If we make it to 90° today, it would be the first time in 2016. Winds should be out of the southwest around 10 mph.

We should stay dry today although storms may not be too far away across Middle TN and northern MS.  Thursday will be very similar to today with temps in the mid-60s for the morning followed by highs close to 90.

A few hit-or-miss storms may develop with the afternoon heat, but there will be many who remain dry. The warm and mostly dry weather will continue through the weekend and into Memorial Day with isolated afternoon storms possible each day.

Although the humidity will be higher, we won't quite be to summertime levels just yet. The upper 80s and lower 90s in the forecast will feel like lower 90s as opposed to triple digits. Look for this weather pattern to last through the end of next week.
