ON WAFF 48 NEWS TODAY

Good Morning. I hope you all had a safe and fun weekend. Here's what we are working on this Monday morning for WAFF 48 News Today.

Two big announcements today. The first, has to do with jobs!!! Our favorite topic here at WAFF. Sources tell us a distribution center is expected to make Russellville it's new home, bringing jobs with it. The announcement is scheduled for today at 1:30 p.m. at Russellville's City Hall.

The other big announcement has to do with the future of Cummings Research Park in Huntsville. It's the nation's second largest research park, with more than 300 companies and 29 thousand employees and city leaders tell us it's about to get better. Stay with WAFF 48 for updates as soon as we get word on both announcements.

It was an emotional scene last night in front of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center where dozens gathered to remember the lives cut short in a deadly wrong-way accident on I-565 last week. This morning, we'll update you on their funeral arrangements.

We're also keeping an eye on the start of Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard's ethics trial. From the beginning, Hubbard has denied any wrong-doing. We won't miss a detail covering his trial for you this week. Hubbard is facing 23 felony counts of using his public office for financial benefit to himself and his businesses.

Bernie "Play Nice!!" That's basically what leaders of the democratic party are asking of Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. He isn't budging right now even though the requests for him to drop out of the race and throw is support behind Hillary Clinton grow louder. We'll break it all down at 5:00 a.m. & 6:00 a.m.

We'll lighten the mood a bit in 'What's Trending.' Did you watch Saturday Night Live? If Hillary Clinton & Bernie Sanders walk into a bar, can you imagine the conversation they would have? We'll show it to you at 5:53 a.m.

Don't forget Stephanie Mills is tracking breaking news as it comes in to our First Alert Center.

Also, before you hit the road tune in for your Road Report to see what roadwork may slow you down.

See you starting at 4:30 a.m.
