FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Mostly sunny skies with temps into the low/mid 70s

(WAFF) - Clouds are clearing out this morning, and we should see mostly sunny skies through the day. Temperatures are slipping into the upper 50s and lower 60s.  Those readings will warm quickly, although it is going to be cooler this afternoon than it's been recently.

We should be into the low/mid 70s by Noon with highs into the upper 70s. Winds should be out of the north around 10 mph this afternoon. The humidity will also be lower, and that will support a cooler night. With clear skies this evening, temperatures will fall quickly after sunset.

We should drop through the 60s this evening with lows bottoming out close to 50° to begin Saturday morning. We'll see mostly sunny skies Saturday, although there may be a brief period with more cloud cover from the mid-morning into the early afternoon as a reinforcing shot of cool air heads into the Valley.

Winds will also be a little stronger Saturday, out of the northwest at 10-15 mph. Highs should stay in the low/mid 70s with lows dipping into the 40s overnight.  Clouds will be increasing Sunday, and it will likely be the coolest day of the next week. Look for highs in the lower 70s.

Our weather gets more unsettled as we start the new work week. Skies will be mostly cloudy by Monday and there's a slight chance for a few rain showers.  Warmer temps and higher storm chances return towards the middle of next week.

There is still some uncertainty as to when the heaviest rain arrives next week, so you'll want to check back for the latest forecast.
