Whew, we've made it to Friday folks. Here's what we have on WAFF 48 News Today.
 
What's next for Alabama Women's Center in Huntsville? Governor Bentley signed the bill which prohibits abortion clinics from being within 2,000 feet of a K-8 school. This affects not only Huntsville's clinic but Tuscaloosa's clinic as well. We'll explain where the fight to keep them open goes from here.

The transgender bathroom issue is about to hit public schools. Today, President Obama plans to offer some guidelines for schools which is sure to keep this heated debate going. We'll explain.

It's still the drag queen against the judge. Both sides of this debate are still at odds while Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore remains on suspension from the bench. One of his biggest critics will be in Huntsville this weekend holding a rally. Find out when and where at 5:30 a.m. & 6:30 a.m.

A very vocal group in Decatur want out of the city's police jurisdiction. They are encouraging the community to meet tonight in support of their efforts. We'll breakdown the details. 

Alabama A&M University has a new Police Chief on campus, for now. He's serving as Interim Chief until the university can find a replacement after the resignation of former Chief Monica Ray. Details on how this will all work at 5:00 a.m. & 6:00 a.m.

This weekend is jam packed with fun events happening across the Tennessee Valley. Dragon boat races, a bike ride with a mayor, concerts on the dock and much more. Catch all of them at 5:15 a.m. & 6:40 a.m.
