FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Scattered showers with temperatures into low-to-mid 70s

(WAFF) - Temperatures are running about 10° cooler this morning compared to yesterday under mainly clear skies. The range is generally mid 40s to lower 50s. You can expect those readings to warm a little faster than yesterday with highs making it into the low-to-mid 70s.

Skies will be mostly sunny this morning, but cloud cover should increase for the afternoon. West winds could also get breezy this afternoon with gusts to 25 mph. A cold front will move in from the north, and scattered showers and storms will accompany it. No severe weather is expected.

The most likely period for any rain or storms will be from 3-8 p.m. Behind the front winds will turn to the north ushering in cooler air. Lows should bottom out in the mid 40s with some clearing taking place overnight.

Clouds should roll back in Thursday for anyone seeing clear skies in the morning. Look for a mix of sun and clouds through the day with a northwest wind of 10-20 mph. It will be a cooler afternoon with highs limited to the mid/upper 60s. Skies should clear overnight, and lows will fall into the mid 40s once again.

Our warming trend begins Friday and continues into the weekend. We'll see mostly sunny skies Friday afternoon with highs in the low-to-mid 70s. Morning lows will be near 50° Saturday with highs pushing back into the 80s.

Look for highs into the mid 80s as we begin the new week.  Skies will be mostly sunny Monday, but more cloud cover should move in Tuesday. The warm weather continues into middle of next week as our next opportunity for rain arrives.
