Happy "Friday Eve" Everyone. Here's what we have on the rundown this morning for WAFF 48 News Today.

We're on the scene of an apartment fire the broke out overnight in Huntsville. It happened at Lily Flagg Apartments. Several apartments are damaged and we know the American Red Cross is also on the scene to help displaced families.

Also, an update to the officer involved shooting in Cullman. We now know the suspects name and condition. We'll hear directly from the Police Chief about what made the officer pull is gun at 5:00 & 6:00 a.m.

Never mind the fact that Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz mathematically CAN'T win the nomination of his party without a contested convention, he's still busy picking a running mate. We'll breakdown the Carly Fiornia selection.

When it comes to politics on the home front, it's a face for lawmakers to finish out the session on a high note. First, finding money to cover the gap in Medicaid funding, voting on the Governor's prison plan and getting past another hurdle to decriminalize medicinal marijuana oil. We'll cover it all at 5:30 & 6:30 a.m.

We're also learning new details about the death of music icon Prince. Investigators now release what pills was found on him at the time of his death.
