FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Sun and clouds mix with temperatures in mid-to-upper 50s

(WAFF) - We'll see a mix of sun and clouds today, and in general, there should be more clouds than sun through the day. Temperatures are a few degrees warmer this morning with mid-to-upper 50s for the most part.

Despite the clouds, it will warm quickly with highs pushing into the upper 70s. Winds should be out of the south around 5-10 mph. Isolated showers are possible west of I-65 this afternoon.

The cloud deck should thicken overnight and scattered showers become more likely into Thursday. It will be another mild night with lows staying in the upper 50s. Skies will be cloudy Thursday with occasional rain showers.

The heaviest rain will likely hold off until the late afternoon and could even be delayed until the overnight hours. A few t-storms may develop and produce gusty winds, but the threat for severe weather is low with this particular system.

Flooding also won't be a big concern as many will only see around 0.5" of rain…although locally higher amounts are certainly possible. Rain showers will linger into Friday as will the cloud cover. Highs should stay in the low/mid 70s Thursday and Friday.

Skies will clear Friday night and lows should bottom out in the lower 50s. Look for mostly sunny skies over the weekend with a warm-up. Highs should be in the upper 70s Saturday and around 80° by Sunday.
