HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

If you have ever felt stuck at a red light then you are not alone.

There is a number of problems with traffic signals on Huntsville roads.

One that was reported under See, Click, Fix remains open 30 days after it was assigned to the Traffic Engineering Department.

The report from Oakwood Avenue Northeast states, "Light not cycling for exit ramp from 565. It's cycled three times. People are running the red light."

Another traffic signal report has gained a lot of attention. It was viewed more than 400 times with most comments about the traffic flow at Bob Wallace and Leeman Ferry being a problem for years.

One person submitted an illustration on how to fix the problem but traffic engineering said the idea of dual eastbound left turns won't work when it comes to large trucks.

But here's what works, the traffic signal timing on McClung Avenue and California Street. Traffic engineering installed new traffic cams to study the signal change after reported delays.

The department responded with the following statement:

As a temporary measure, Traffic Engineering again found cameras to be our best option to give the driving public the best detection... due to changes to roadways, construction and of course general maintenance that is required for any equipment.

They said the goal is to give everyone a fair share of the green light.
