FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Sun and cloud mix with temperatures warming up to 80°

(WAFF) - Temperatures are similar to yesterday morning, and many of you are starting the day in the upper 40s and lower 50s. You should see a fair amount of sunshine this morning, although some high cloud cover is already in place.

We'll see a mix of sun and clouds today with thin, upper-level clouds filtering the sunshine from time to time. Temperatures should still warm up quickly and we'll be up to around 80° for a high once again.

Like yesterday, winds shouldn't be too strong just 5-10 mph out of the southwest. High clouds continue arriving tonight, and lows will likely be a couple degrees warmer to begin Wednesday.

Clouds will increase and thicken throughout the day and highs will top out in the upper 70s. The chance for an isolated rain shower will move in late, and is primarily for areas west of I-65. Many will stay dry through Wednesday evening.

The rain chance will increase area-wide overnight as a slow moving cold front moves into the Valley. Scattered showers with occasional thunderstorms will be possible Thursday, and the clouds will keep highs cooler.

We should be in the low-to-mid 70s Thursday and Friday. Showers will linger into Friday, but should wrap up by the evening. The severe threat with this system remains low in the Valley, and rain totals shouldn't be more than around 0.5-1".

Clouds will clear out Friday night as lows fall into the low-to-mid 50s. Skies will be mostly sunny Saturday afternoon with highs rebounding back into the upper 70s. We should be around 80° Sunday with plenty of sunshine. The warm, dry weather should continue for the start of next week.
