Police officer saves his own life

A Florence police officer is very fortunate to be alive this morning! Trent Butler here on a Monday morning. State investigators say they may never know why a man shot a Florence police officer in the face early Sunday morning.  Officer Brian Berry was shot in the cheek while talking with a driver who refused to go through a green light. The driver took off and later took his own life when approached by police. This morning, we'll share the amazing story of how Officer Berry saved his own life after being shot at point-blank range. 

It will be a somber morning at Priceville High School as students, teachers and staff mourn the loss of 15 year-old Carmen Johnson, who drowned at Smith Lake on Saturday. The coroner says electricity moving through a boat dock may have played a role in Johnson's death. 

Plus, we'll bring you the latest from New York as presidential candidates spent their weekend courting voters to win last minute support before Tuesday's primary. Donald Trump is accusing rival Ted Cruz of trying to buy off delegates in Colorado. Trump also says the GOP is trying to rig the process against him as he tries to win the nomination.
