FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Windy with temperatures in mid 40s to near 50 for Wednesday

(WAFF) -

We’re starting this morning warmer compared to yesterday. You’ll probably still want a jacket, but nobody is starting the day near freezing. Temperatures generally range from the mid 40s to near 50.

We should see a fair amount of sunshine this morning, but clouds will be increasing through the day. The wind will also be picking up, out of the southeast.  This morning it’s around 5-10 mph, but by the afternoon winds should be closer to 15 mph. Highs will warm into the mid 70s as skies become mostly cloudy.

Many will stay dry this afternoon and evening with storms ongoing to our west. During the overnight hours, a round of showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds of 35-40 mph will move across the area.

This heavier rain could hang on long enough to slow the morning commute, but showers should be exiting by the mid/late morning.  By lunchtime we should get a break from the rain, and we may see a little bit of sunshine.
