It's officially spring and two of the most popular and scenic excursions on the Tennessee Valley Railroad are about to begin!

Trains consist of enclosed, climate-controlled coaches that are pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive.

The Hiwassee Loop primarily runs on the weekend and takes passengers to the top of the famous Hiwassee Loop on a three and a half hour ride.

The Hiwassee Loops rides begin at 1:30 p.m., but morning rides are available on certain days.

Th Copperhill Special takes passengers through the lower Hiwassee River Gorge, over the Hiwassee Loop, and on to the joint cities of Copperhill and McCaysville.

Both excursions will begin L&D Depot and Museum in Etowah, Tennessee.

Prices begin at $40 per adult and $30 per child.
