ALDOT projects involving long-term lane closures

(WAFF) -

The following is a list of long-term lane closures provided to us by the Alabama Department of Transportation:

Bridge replacement on U.S. 31 at Swan Creek north of Decatur in Limestone County. (Temporary single-lane closures, soon to be reduced to one lane in each direction)

Bridge replacement on U.S. 72 at Second Creek west of Rogersville in Lauderdale County. (Reduced to one lane in each direction)

Bridge replacement on Alabama 20 at Mallard Creek near Hillsboro in Lawrence County. (Reduced to one lane in each direction)

Intersection improvements and pavement replacement project at U.S. 31 and Alabama 20 in Decatur. (Alabama 20 reduced to one lane in each direction)

South Memorial Parkway (U.S. 231/Alabama 53) improvements between Golf Road and Whitesburg Drive in Huntsville. (U.S. 231/Alabama 53 reduced to two lanes in each direction)

O’Neal Bridge (U.S. 72/U.S. 43/Alabama 20/Alabama 17/Alabama 2) rehabilitation and painting project in Florence. (Bridge reduced to one lane in each direction)

Shoulder slide repair on Alabama 68 between Leesburg and Sand Rock in Cherokee County is complete at this time.

Nightly lane closures on I-565 will begin April 24 for pile stabilization work at the I-565 bridge and service road bridges at Limestone Creek between Mooresville Rd. (Exit 2) and Greenbrier Road (Exit 3) in Limestone County. The outside eastbound lane will b closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
