AUBURN, AL (WAFF) - Auburn's leading tackler in 2015 made his debut at practice Tuesday.
New Hope, Alabama native Jonathan Rudy Ford made his first appearance after battling an illness during the first five practices.
Many young players got valuable repetitions during the absence of Ford. On Tuesday Gus Malzahn was happy with the return of his defensive veteran.
"Even though he was out the last five practices, it gave those younger guys more reps, and now that he's back out there, he gives that leadership," Malzahn said Tuesday after practice. "Especially in our league, leadership means so much, and when you get a guy like that back on that side of the football, it helps in all areas."
Auburn returns to practice on Thursday.
