HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Hold the phone! To be more precise in this case, grab the phone and run off with it!

That's what a cell phone thief did.

But we're hoping you can dial the digits to land this cell phone crook in a cell in this week's Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers.

You can see a woman on surveillance camera leaving the Walmart on University in Huntsville December 6.

She's looking at a cell phone.

What you want to bet it's not hers?

Police say this woman dialed a wrong number when she stole a phone another person accidentally left behind on the checkout counter.

Police say not only is there a danger the thief will make phone calls, but these smart phones contain all sorts of personal information like names, addresses, and photos.

A crook could easily dip into those things.

So it's time for you to make the call on your own phone if you know who the woman is.

Even though she might be making some free calls for now, your call with tips on who she is could make you some money.

We have just the phone number you need to dial for dollars.

Make the anonymous call to 256-53-Crime.

You can also submit your tips via email or text - click here for more details.

There's a reward of up to $1,000 for you.
