FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Warm temperatures with clear skies

(WAFF) -

Temperatures are warm this morning ahead of a cold front. Most of us are starting the day close to 70° with southwest winds of 10-15 mph. Isolated showers are possible as the cold front moves through, but any rain won’t be too widespread.

Temperatures should briefly drop, but many will stay in the 60s for a low this morning. Any clouds should be clearing out as we head into the afternoon and we’ll stay dry. Skies will be mostly sunny, but the wind won’t be as strong…just 5-10 mph out of the west.

It won’t be as warm as it was yesterday, but highs will still be 5-10° warmer than average in the mid 70s. Look for mainly clear skies this evening and tonight. We’ll be a bit cooler to begin Thursday morning with lows in the mid 40s.

Temperatures will continue getting progressively cooler as we head into the weekend. Today’s cold front will stall to our south for the end of the work week.  That puts more clouds and the higher chance for rain closer to the Gulf coast.
