(WAFF) - At one time last month, Alabama was inside the projected field of 68 for the NCAA Tournament.
Fast forward three weeks later after losses to Arkansas and Mississippi State, and the Crimson Tide needed to make some noise in the SEC Tournament to have any shot of making the Big Dance.
Avery Johnson's bunch may be well on their way. Alabama beat Ole Miss Thursday night in the second round of the SEC Tournament 81-73, winning their first SEC Tournament game since 2013.
Four players scored in double figures, led by senior Retin Obasohan's 17 points.
Retin scored all of his points in the second half. Albertville native Riley Norris added 17 in the contest as well.
Alabama advances to the Quarterfinals to face Kentucky at 6 p.m. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
