1 killed after log truck hits pickup in Scottsboro

SCOTTSBORO, AL (WAFF) -

Traffic on Highway 72 in Scottsboro was delayed Wednesday due to a fatal wreck involving a log truck.

According to officials, a Ford pickup truck at a business along the highway backed up into the road while trying to exit.

An oncoming log truck hit the pickup. The log truck overturned, sending its cargo across the road.

A passenger inside the pickup died at the scene. The driver of the pickup was flown to Huntsville Hospital.The condition of the driver is not known.

The driver of the log truck was transported to Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro. The driver's condition is not known.
