Hazel Green falls in 7A semifinals

(WAFF) - The State basketball tournament continued Thursday at Legacy Arena at the BJCC Convention center. Top-ranked Hazel Green faced McGill-Toolen in the Class 7A Semifinals.

A back and forth game played out before the crowd - Caitlyn Hose drained a deep jumper, and the Lady Trojans took a one point lead in the second half.

Hose had 12 points in the contest.

McGill-Toolen would answer and Hazel Green would respond, But Hazel Green's run would come to an end as McGill-Toolen held on for a 54-53 win.

"It's just a good bunch of girls," Hazel Green Head Coach Tim Miller said after the game. "That's why it was so fun to coach these girls. The fun part for me was that they worked so hard, and giving me everything they had, and that's how the game was, they gave me everything they had, and we just came up short today."

The lady Trojans end the season with a 33-4 record.
