FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Rain showers with temperatures into upper 3 - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Rain showers with temperatures into upper 30s and lower 40s for Thursday

(WAFF) -

Rain showers will push into the Valley from the west this morning. There may be some sleet or snow mixed with the rain early, but there shouldn’t be any travel problems other than wet roads.

Temperatures will stay above freezing this morning in the upper 30s and lower 40s for the most part. Steady rain will continue into this afternoon, but should taper off by the evening. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, but no severe weather is expected.

Highs will stay in the 40s today with a southeast wind around 10 mph. The rain should be gone tonight and skies will stay mostly cloudy. Lows should bottom out in the upper 30s for Friday morning.

We’ll start the day with mostly cloudy skies, but those clouds should slowly diminish through the day. We’ll still be cool to end the work week. Highs will be in the low/mid 50s Friday afternoon.
