FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Clear skies with noticeably cooler temperatures

(WAFF) -

It is noticeably cooler this morning with temperatures running about 10-15° below where they were yesterday. Most are starting this morning in the mid 30s.  But, a north wind around 10 mph is making it feel more like the mid/upper 20s in some spots.

Certainly jacket weather!!  Skies are generally clear west of I-65 with a few clouds still hanging on east of the interstate. Those clouds should diminish this morning leaving the Valley with mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Temperatures will stay cool today with a north wind of 5-15 mph.

Highs should top out in the lower 50s…some in northeastern Alabama may not make it out of the 40s. Clouds will increase overnight, and lows will likely be a couple degrees warmer to begin Thursday morning.

Skies will be cloudy Thursday with rain showers developing by the late morning. Scattered showers continue throughout the afternoon before wrapping up Thursday evening. Despite a south wind around 10 mph, temperatures won’t warm much through the day.
