TUSCALOOSA, AL (WAFF) - Congressman Robert Aderholt spent Super Tuesday watching election returns in Tuscaloosa with his family.
Aderholt won re-election to represent Alabama's 4th Congressional District, beating out Republican challenger Phil Norris.
After casting his ballot early Tuesday morning alongside his wife in his hometown of Haleyville, he held his watch party at Chuck's Fish in Tuscaloosa, where supporters and friends joined him to watch returns.
Aderholt, a member of the powerful House Committee on Appropriations, said he ran a tough campaign - one that proved to be successful with his constituents.
He said that now the election is over, it's back to work fighting for the American people.
"Alabama values and principles are very important to me," he said. "I think standing up for those family values are very crucial; those are the type of issues I've hopefully stood up for and will continue to stand up for."
