Stevenson Interim Police Chief arrested on domestic violence charges

Stevenson Interim Police Chief Roy Hester Hollis, 48, was arrested on domestic violence charges.

Etowah County Sheriff's Office arrested Hollis on Feb 17.

He was charged with third-degree domestic violence.

Hollis' bond was set at $1,000. He was released the same day.

Stevenson Police Department has confirmed that Hollis is still active with the department at this time.

Hollis was appointed as acting chief in the interim after Stevenson Police Chief Daniel Winters was arrested on two counts of deprivation of civil right under the color of law.

Earlier in Feb. Winters pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is currently on administrative leave from the department.
