FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Cloudy skies with temperatures topping out to upper 40s/lower 50s

(WAFF) -

Skies are mainly clear this morning. There is some lingering cloud cover, generally east of I-65, but those clouds will continue to thin as the morning progresses.

We are a few degrees colder this morning compared to yesterday, but the wind is lighter. Most are in the lower 30s, and you can expect those readings to warm quickly. We’ll see mostly sunny skies into the afternoon, and highs should top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Winds will be out of the northwest at 5-15 mph. Clear skies will continue into this evening, and temperatures should drop quickly once the sun sets. Lows will bottom out around 30° to begin Saturday with more frost than we’ll see this morning.

You can expect plenty of sunshine Saturday afternoon, and we should be warmer than today. Highs will make it into the upper 50s with a southwest wind.  While the wind does help warm us up, it should also lead to a higher pollen count this weekend.
