HACKLEBURG, AL (WAFF) - Memorial services for Country Music Hall of Fame member Sonny James have been announced.
James died Monday at the age of 87 at a Nashville hospice facility.
He was known as "The Southern Gentleman," and along with Bobbie Gentry, hosted the first Country Music Association Awards show. James was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Hackleburg High School gymnasium.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Hackleburg Church of Christ.
