FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Wind advisory in effect for the TN Valley

(WAFF) - A wind advisory is in effect for the TN Valley throughout the day. Sustained winds should be at 15-25 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph. A few storms are still possible this morning over northeastern AL, but no severe weather is expected.

Those storms will produce heavier rain and wind gusts of 40-50 mph are not out of the question. Scattered showers remain possible for the rest of the day.  Rain should be more widespread for the afternoon compared to this morning.

Temperatures will be falling during the day, so our highs will occur this morning with afternoon temps slipping into the 40s.

As the rain ends tonight, a few snowflakes may mix in with it. No accumulation is expected.  Skies stay cloudy tonight and lows should fall into the mid 30s with wind chills in the 20s. There won't be much sunshine on Thursday and an occasional sprinkle or snow flurry is possible.
