First Alert Weather Day - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL

First Alert Weather Day

(WAFF) -

Today is a First Alert Weather Day. Good morning, Trent Butler here on a Tuesday. The WAFF 48 weather team is declaring a First Alert Weather Day because of the threat of high winds and heavy rain between the hours of 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 a.m. Wednesday.  David Ernst says our greatest threat is damaging wind gusts, but we can't rule out the threat for lower end tornadoes.

This morning, we're also bringing you the latest on the Presidential campaign, including Donald Trump's plans to visit Huntsville this weekend.  The Republican frontrunner is scheduled to speak at Black Hall Aerospace on Sunday. We'll also give you an update today's caucuses in Nevada as the GOP field tries to win important delegates.

We're also previewing Super Tuesday elections since Alabama voters will be making major decisions in the state's primary one week from today.  We'll talk about some of the other races you'll find on the ballot, including a hotly contested U.S. Senate showdown.

It's early but we're helping you jump start the day on WAFF 48 News Today. We hope you can join us!
