Madison police release name of woman killed in I-565 collision

MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

Madison police have identified the victim, as well as the driver of the passenger vehicle, from a fatal collision on I-565 on Feb. 12.

Police say 31-year-old Jamila Kanika Davis of Savannah, Georgia was killed in the crash.

Madison police responded to a collision on I-565 west of Wall Triana Highway on Feb. 12. The collision involved a tractor-trailer and another vehicle.

Officers said the tractor-trailer had been traveling west on I-565, left the roadway, and went into the eastbound lane, hitting another vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle, Davis, died on the scene from her injuries.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.

The Madison Police Department extended their deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Davis.
