A very good Monday to you, Tennessee Valley!
I am very proud to see Huntsville and North Alabama represented with 3 nominees at tonight's Grammys!
Athens-based group Alabama Shakes is up for Album of the Year, and as of this writing, has already won four other trophies. Florence Native Jason Isbell won two Grammy Awards for Best Americana Album. And Oakwood College's own Committed were nominated for best arrangement, instrumental or Acapella category for" Do You Hear What I Hear?"
Just goes to show you how much talent comes out of North Alabama!
Beyond the glitz and glamour of the awards, we do have some serious stories we're working on in the newsroom tonight:
Abortion clinic move: If Senator Paul Sanford's "2,000-ft." bill becomes law, the only clinic in Huntsville licensed to perform abortions may be forced to move once again. Tiffaney Bradley will have more with the senator.
Online Voter Registration Deadline: Time's running out if you wish to exercise your democratic rights in the March 1 state primary. Lauren Bale fills you in on your options.
Double Homicide Investigation: While those responsible for the deaths of two people in the Hamilton area are still sought, the community is coming together to mourn the victims.
