FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Clear skies with a few clouds for Thursday morning

(WAFF) -

Skies are mainly clear this morning with just a few clouds cutting across southern Tennessee and northeastern Alabama. There could be a few snow flurries out of these clouds, but it won’t be anything significant. Temperatures have bottomed out in the mid-20s, which is about 5-10° warmer compared to Wednesday morning.

Skies will be mostly sunny today and temperatures will warm up quickly. Temperatures around noon should be into the mid-40s with a high closer to 50. Clouds will increase during the late afternoon and skies will become mostly cloudy overnight. Lows should drop to around 30.

The overnight clouds diminish by dawn Friday and skies should be mostly sunny for the afternoon. Winds will be more southeasterly to begin the day, but turn to more of a northerly direction by the afternoon. That will signal the return of cooler air for the weekend, but highs Friday should still top out in the lower 50s.
