FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Bitterly cold temperatures Wednesday morning

(WAFF) -

Expect bitterly cold temperatures in the upper teens and lower 20s for your Wednesday morning. While winds are calm in a few places, they could still be making it feel more like low-to-mid teens when the wind is blowing.

Icy roads could be an issue for some. A number of roads are dry and completely passable, but anywhere that was problematic yesterday evening will likely still pose a problem this morning. Give yourself a few extra minutes on that morning commute in case you need to slow down - anything that looks like water on the roads is likely ice.

You'll see a mix of sun and clouds Wednesday with more of the cloud cover over northeastern portions of the state. That’s also where we could see a few morning snow flurries. Temperatures should warm into the mid-to-upper 30s for highs with a  northwest wind of 5-15 mph. More clouds will arrive late this afternoon, but they should dissipate overnight.

It will be another chilly one with lows into the lower 20s. Highs should recover into the mid-40s by Thursday with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures in the 40s are in store for Friday as well, but another arctic front cools us down for the weekend.
