Cold start for all, a later start for some

(WAFF) -

A cold start for everyone and a later start for some this morning. Hello! Trent Butler here on a Tuesday morning. Madison County and Fort Payne City schools are delayed 2 hours because of snow showers and possible icy conditions.  DeKalb County and Jackson County schools are delayed 3 hours. For a complete list of delays and closings, head to our website, WAFF.

This morning, we'll also show you how churches are opening their doors and hearts to anyone who needs a warm place to stay in this wintry weather. You'll hear from one man who's very grateful for this place of refuge.

The national spotlight shines on New Hampshire and its voters today. This morning, they are picking their favorite presidential candidates. Believe it or not, votes are already being counted in the small town of Dixville Notch. So far, after 9 votes, Bernie Sanders leads the way for the Democrats and John Kasich is the frontrunner for the Republicans.

Of course, David Ernst is tracking any snow showers and icy conditions in the Valley. We'll also let you know if we see any travel issues. Join us for a busy Tuesday morning on WAFF 48 News Today!
