Mild temperatures in store

Your Monday morning will start out in the upper 20s to mid-30s but will rebound nicely by the afternoon hour. Temperatures will be mild for the most part, with highs topping out in the mid-50s, a stark contrast to what we saw this past weekend. You'll see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day with more sunshine during the morning hours.

Hwy 72 expansion to pick back up

While road conditions across north Alabama have greatly improved over the past 72 hours, there's still one stretch of road where improvements have been at a standstill for months now. The six-lane road expansion project on Highway 72 begins at Providence Main Street and spans to County Line Road. The project was suddenly halted in February when more than $100 million dollars for projects from ALDOT were frozen but now it seems that freeze is no longer in place.

1 in custody after fatal shooting

A domestic dispute turned deadly in DeKalb County Saturday night. Cody Wade is behind bars after a fatal shooting near the Shiloh Nazarene Church in Higdon. Barry White and William Gilreath were allegedly shot by Wade and crashed their car into a ditch near the church. White died from his injuries, meanwhile Gilreath's condition remains unknown at this time. Wade is behind bars, facing murder charges.
