1 injured in deputy-involved shooting

One man was rushed to the hospital after a deputy-involved shooting in Meridianville Wednesday night. Madison County Sheriff's deputies received a call about a man walking along the Highway 231/431 parkway with a gun in his waistband. Deputies chased after him and cornered the man in the Inspirational Pointe subdivision in Meridianville. Deputies say the man pulled him gun, and one of the deputies involved in the chase shot him. The suspect was rushed to Huntsville Hospital for a gunshot wound. The man's name and condition aren't being made public right now.

Dense fog advisory in effect

We’ll start Thursday morning under a dense fog advisory. Pockets of thick fog will reduce visibility to less than a quarter-mile, especially through the higher elevations where low clouds will be more prominent. Temperatures are above freezing this morning, meaning that although the roads could still be wet, no icy spots are expected. Skies will stay cloudy today and highs should make it into mid-40s.

Firefighters battle blaze at shopping center

Fire investigators were called to the scene of a blaze in Magnolia Plaza in Madison. The call came in around 6:33 Wednesday evening. Investigators said flames were through the roof and restaurants and businesses in the plaza had to be evacuated. The plaza has massive smoke damage.
