Alabama A&M trustee respond to state audit

Alabama A&M trustee James D. Montgomery, Sr., released a statement Friday morning, expressing concern that the university isn't doing enough to correct problems within the university. "Alabama A&M is being  made the laughing stock of higher education. The findings for the second time in less than a year are serious and demonstrate that the board of trustees has no control over the university." Montgomery said. The audit was completed on January 4th, and covers the 2014 fiscal year. It found nine issues from that year as well as seven unresolved issued from audits between 2005 and 2013.

GOP debate gets heated

The first GOP debate of 2016 is now behind us and Thursday night's debate centered around Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz taking jabs at each other for most of the night. The two, who have been civil with one another up until the debate, clashed on the main stage last night; with Trump questioning Cruz's eligibility to serve as commander-in-chief and Cruz's calling out Trump for "New York Values."

Scattered storms ahead of weekend cold front

Scattered showers will be possible throughout the day today. It won’t be a washout by any means, and most of what falls will be on the light side. Highs will be in the middle 50s.
