Bundle up! It's cold out there!

(WAFF) -

We can't sugarcoat this one. It's COLD this morning in the Tennessee Valley. Trent Butler here hoping you are staying warm this AM.

Today, on WAFF 48 News Today, David Ernst is talking about temperatures in the 20's but wind chill readings in the teens!  Jonathan Radford will show you schools are making sure the heat is working correctly for students this week.  We'll also tell you how one area group is trying to help the homeless survive these sub-zero temps.

The Alabama football team is enjoying warmer weather in Arizona as the Tide counts down the hours until tonight's battle with Clemson in college football's national championship game.

We'll break down the matchups that will decide the game and we'll look back at Bama's remarkable run of success led by coach Nick Saban.

We hope you're on the other side of the TV, laptop or phone this morning for the Monday edition of WAFF 48 News Today!

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
