Good Tuesday evening, North Alabama:
Definitely the talker of the day has been President Obama's announcement on tighter restriction on gun control in the country. The president's announcement has prompted reaction from politicians, gun rights advocates and regular citizens.
Some say the president is overstepping his reach and violating our second amendment rights. Others support the president's actions. One thing is for sure: No matter what side of the fence you are on, this is a topic that is not going away anytime soon.
Our Lauren Bale will have more on local reaction to Obama's gun control policy tonight at 10.
Also in the broadcast: We're keeping tabs on the hunt for a juvenile who escaped from authorities this evening at the Neaves-Davis Center. We're told the teen was there for a hearing before he escaped. We're working to get more details on the search.
A gas leak was reported Monday night in a Madison neighborhood. Police put out an alert for the area of Shelton Road and Water Hill Road after a valve broke. We'll have the latest on the response from gas company officials.
