HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - An organization that does so much to help children in our area, is in need of a little help itself.
The Boys and Girls Club of North Alabama say they are in dire need of a proper cafeteria.
On any given day, the club serves a meal to more than 200 kids and for many it may be the last meal they get.
They've been making do with placing children around the facility, especially during the winter months but during the summer when the feeding program kicks in, all children are forced to just eat outside.
"Some of these kids the last meal they will receive is from the Boys and Girls Club. If we have a cafeteria and a multi-purpose room then we could feed some of these kids also in the afternoon, along with the summer feeding program, where all the kids have to sit together which we don't have a space for that," said Liz Clemons, Boys and Girls Club Director.
